Railriders™ Wheels

Company founder Ron Forster had a vision to repurpose old disused rail lines but there was one nagging question: How?

Over the course of several years, thousands of test miles, various prototypes and a lot of trial and error the Railrider™ wheel was invented. From the thick hard angle flange to the taper of the wheel itself no aspect was over looked. The end result wound up being a lightweight wheel that can carry a good bit of weight, silent running, smooth and affordable.

Based on the success of the original wheel various other wheel types have been deloped and refined.

Railriders™ original 17” wheel

Born from Ron Forster’s original protoype the 17” wheel can be found all over the world, and in all 50 US states! This wheel has been the backbone of commercial tour operators for many years and is the gold standard for hobbyists.

Railriders™ 12 inch wheel

Born out of the need to carry a bit more weight the 12 inch wheel from Railriders™ features a steel center and can be configured in multiple ways with several different hub styles.

Railriders™ 6” Guide Wheel

Developed exclusively for the rigors of Rail Biking these wheels may be small but they are mighty! Available in a single or dual flange configuration these wheels are perfect for a Rail Bike conversion of a bicycle but they have found their way into many other applications. Quiet running and lightweight polyurethane design makes for an enjoyable ride with large, thick flanges to carry you safely down the rails.
